zchen part II
'Finally tmr will be the start of primary 1',he has been looking forward to,all of us may feel that there's nth to be surprise of,it's juz something that present small kids will start to get bored as day goes by.but to a family that wasnt well to do and with other 6 siblings,studying in kingdergarden seems impossible to zchen.At that time,zchen's elder bro n sis who were already schooling actually influenced zchen and taught him maths.some addition and substraction taught to him had already gave him the urge to pester his parents to send him to school asap.wonder what little zchen was like on the eve of sch start?he was so excited that he insisted wearing school uniform and school shoes to bed.the next day,LOLZ...he actually woke up by himself,still recalling wad his dad has told him 'when cikgu(teacher) call chong chee seng,you muz answer ada(yes)' of course ,he didnt disappoint his dad who was standing by outside the classroom.from his dad eyes,he could sense the happiness and he started to realise what he is suppose to do in the future.He will nv forget during pri 1 when he first improve on his grades,the first 2 person he wanted to tell were his parents.this is because he wanted his parents to feel a kind of content feeling that cannot be describe from him,a sense of achievement.Still remember when he jump from 18 to 11 in the class position,mum carried him up and asked him' Chen..this time round is 11th position,how abt next time?' Haha..after he pondered for awhile,he answered proudly '5th position' this kind of self confidence made him got the 2nd place,during the 6 years of primary school,1st has been his usual style including singing competition ,story telling competition etc(except for that particular primary 1,he got 2nd for his singing competition,lost to his first love,and primary 4,his moment of laziness made him lost).Come to tink of it,he is someone who nv fight for a losing battle,the most mermorable was that his mum will always be there to support him during competitions and told him to treat audience as grass,eyes solely placed on judges will do.
I wanna transfer school
the 2 months holidays after primary school guaduation seems to serve as a purpose for the kids to allow time to forget the pain of departure.kampong kids are well known for being loyal,they cried very badly on the day of guaduation.only whose who are heartless,they actually return wad they learnt back to those teachers.At that time,zchen was recognised as 'good voice' actually had to face what other boys cant escape--->changing of voice(puberty) ...he became the 'donald duck' that people teased him.To him,talking at that time was quite embarassing,let alone singing!LOLZ....
Elderst bro zhi ming came back during lantern festival,heard zchen using some kind of granny voice calling him 'ming ge',he stared hard at zchen and laughed 'wow...you have grown up!'.Also,zchen began to realise that many things canot be asked like what little kids used to do,but rather he start to question himself and answer himself,and began to solve problems himself more often.
It was a good thing that the family start to become better,tv set,recorder,refrigerator,washing machines etc .all turned from imaginary to reality,malay pop songs started to attract zchen,the sad thing is the more he love malay songs,the wider the gap the family and him and he didnt understand why he was being 'outcast'.
